Sustainable Design of Products and Services for Human Well-being

Abstract:

Well-being or happiness should be considered as a parameter for designing sustainable products or services. Hence, factor analysis is conducted using results of questionnaire to 1500 Japanese adults asking questions in relation to happiness. As a result four factors are obtained. Those are 1) Self-fulfillment and growth, 2) Relationships and gratitude, 3) Positivity and Optimism, and 4) Independence and going at own pace. Workshops for designing products and services considering four factor of happiness is proposed.
